Lesson learned:
If the lighting isn't optimal, RESCHEDULE!
This is the sweet eight-day-old little girl of one of my friends in the Highlands. Having three little boys, I thought I wouldn't know what to do with a little girl! As it turns out, they work pretty much the same at this age... they're cuddly and sweet and sleepy... and can't run away from the camera!
I shot over a hundred photos, but wound up happy with just a handful. I'm resistant to flashes, both built-in and external, and would rather just use available natural light... the problem is that the light has to exist.
Anyway, lesson learned, and here are a few of my favorites:
